About Artist

Amanda Hashimoto

I fell in love with art from the moment I could hold a crayon, I took my first art lesson before I was 5, and began teaching art lessons when I was 14. I graduated from Thompson Rivers University with my Bachelors of Fine Arts Advanced Degree, obtained my Artists Foundations Education certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Arts, as well as my B.A.Sc. Psychology Degree from Lakehead University.

I have taught classes through local galleries, the city of Barrie, retirement homes, special needs, and various elementary and high schools across Simcoe County. I have taught individuals and groups from 1 year olds to 90 +, with a range of styles from Realism, to cartooning, to expressionism and have practiced with almost any medium there is from drawing and painting to encaustics, printmaking and welding. I still enjoy custom commissioned works as well as exhibition works, however tattooing is by far my favorite. I don’t specialize in any specific style, I enjoy the challenge of making every artwork special and unique to the person receiving it.
