HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN OPEN?

Pushing Inc was founded in 1989, The oldest tattoo studio in Barrie, Ontario. Pushing Inc. has been recognized for its incredibly thorough sterilization process and cleanliness in the tattoo industry. We opened our location on Mapleview in February 2018!

WHERE IS YOUR SHOP LOCATED?

Pushing Inc Tattoo Emporium is located at 371 Mapleview Drive W, Barrie, Ontario. On the corner of Essa & Mapleview.  Parking area is around the back of our shop!

DO YOU TAKE DEBIT/CREDIT?

 Yes, we take debit and credit!

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

To book an appointment you can contact us through social media, call us at 705-300-2197, send us an email or come into the studio. It is recommended to call the receptionist and book a consultation to get the most accurate and prompt response.

DO YOU ACCEPT WALK INS OR DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT? Yes, we do accept walk ins, provided an artist is available and able to get the design ready in time. We are a busy studio and open 7 days a week, but it is recommended to call before coming in.

ARE CONSULTATIONS FREE?

Yes, consultations are free, during consultations you may be required to pay an art fee for costume drawings or put down a deposit to book an appointment.

WHAT ARE DEPOSITS AND ART FEES?

Deposits are required for all tattoo bookings and may be required for certain piercing orders and project. Deposits are not required for consultation bookings.

· Recommended deposits are $50 for minimum to 1 hour, $100 for 1 to 3 hours, $200 to $500 half to full day bookings.

· Deposits are non-taxed.

· Deposits are non-refundable, if a client fails to give 48h notice on cancelations or rebooks the deposit is exterminated.

· Deposits are not art fees. 100% of the deposit is taken off the total price of the client’s tattoo during their appointment or moved forward if rebooking that day.

Art fees are a service provided by the artist and are taxed when put though the till. They are NOT deposit’s and will NOT be taken of the final price.

· Art fees are up to the artists based on the amount of time needed to draw.

· Typically, art fees are anywhere between $40 to $100

· All art fees are taxed.

· Not all tattoos require custom drawings and art fees.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY APPOINTMENT?

We require 48 hours’ notice to change or cancel an appointment. Failure to do so results in loss of deposit.


TATTOOS HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR MY TATTOO?

· Make Sure to eat a solid meal and drink plenty water the day of your appointment.

· Come well rested.

· Wear comfortable clothing, avoid wearing white. 

· Do not take recreational drugs or consume alcohol at least 24 hours before your tattoo.

ARE TATTOOS SAFE?

Provided you are seeing a reputable artist that is following all recommended safety procedures then yes, tattooing is completely safe. Please make sure you are fully honest about any medical conditions and don’t be afraid to ask about sterile procedures and health board certificates.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO GET A TATTOO?

  Anytime of the year is the best time to get a tattoo of course! Although our skin is exposed to the elements more often in the summer, and you will need to avoid things such as swimming and tanning while your tattoo is healing. These are things you may want to take into consideration during a consultation with your artist!

WHAT IF I AM SICK? CAN I STILL GET A TATTOO?

It is not recommended to get a tattoo when your immune system isn’t 100%, You will need your strength and white blood cells to heal your new tattoo! Your body cannot do that if it is fighting away bacteria and virus. If you are sick, please call and reschedule your appointment so that illness is not passed onto any of our artist, employees and other clients in our shop.

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED AFTERCARE FOR MY TATTOO?

Every artist and shop will have their own aftercare, it is recommended that you follow what your artist provides you. If you have done your research and are going to a professional, you will be in good hands either way.

You can find our aftercare information in the aftercare blog post in the website, or come in or call the studio.

IS YOUR STUDIO CLEAN?

Our studio is fully disposable and ensures to set up and tear down in front of every client.

We have all up to date certificates and health inspection hanging on our walls along with all spore tests done weekly.

DO YOU DO TOUCH UPS?

The artists offer one free touch up on work originally tattooed by them within three months of getting their tattoo. Tattoos exempted from a free touch up include; hands, feet, fingers, necks and any case involving individuals who disregarded the artists after care. Exemption of a free touch up will also include anyone who no-shows a scheduled touch up appointment, disregarding the importance of the artist’s time.

CAN I TAN WITH A TATTOO?

It goes against our aftercare and is not recommended to go tanning during the first four weeks after getting your tattoo. After your tattoo is fully healed you can put SPF 45 or higher on to protect it from the sun. excessive sun exposure can fade your tattoo.

CAN YOU TATTOO OVER SCARS?

It depends on the severity and maturity of your scar which is judged on a case by case basis. In general, a scar should be at least one or two years old but a consultation with an artist is mandatory first. Stretch marks are different than scars and must be consulted with a professional and reputable artist that has worked with them before.

CAN YOU FIX UP OR COVER UP A TATTOO DONE FROM SOMEONE ELSE?

Yes. It is up to the artist if they feel confident and comfortable to work within the guidelines of your coverup based on what you currently have. Coverups can take several consultations and sittings depending on the requirements of the cover up.

DO YOU DO LIP TATTOOS, ULTRAVIOLET TATTOOS, TATTOOS USING LOVED ONES ASHES.

For sterility and safety purposes we do not offer these options.

CAN YOUR ARTISTS DO CUSTOM DRAWINGS OR DO I NEED A READY DESIGN?

Yes, our artists can do custom drawings and designs, they may require a consultation and drawing fee prior to doing the drawing and more than one consultation may be recommended. It is a good idea to come prepared with all the source material you can; content matter and styles you like to show your artist the direction you are going in.

IF I BRING CASH CAN I BE EXEMPT FROM TAXES?

No, all clients are taxed on all services.

CAN I GET A TATTOO OR PIERCING IF I AM PREGNANT OR BREAST FEEDING?

No, we will not tattoo anyone who is pregnant or breast feeding.

DO PEOPLE FAINT DURING A TATTOO OR PIERCING?

Yes, can happen. People tend to pass out because of nerves, not having eaten, low blood sugar, or heat. The artists in our studio are trained to watch for signs however if it happens we are well prepared to take care of you and ensure the importance of your discretion and comfort.

CAN I USE NUMBING CREAM BEFORE I COME FOR MY TATTOO?

Be sure to consult you artist prior to putting on any numbing cream.

WHEN IS IT NOT A GOOD IDEA TO GET A TATTOO? You should not get tattooed when you are:

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WILL NOT TATTOO?

All artists have the right to refuse work on anything they deem hateful, racist, obscene, sits above the collar, below the wrists, near the genitals, or on any other area on the body that may cause the artist discomfort.

All artists also have the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason including poor attitude, disrespectfulness and/or any inappropriate behavior. This applies both to the client and the company they bring along with them as well as anyone under the influence.


PIERCINGS


DO YOU HAVE AN UNTRASONIC AND AUTOCLAVE?

Yes and Yes, spore tests are run weekly and results are displayed on the wall.

CAN I BRING MY OWN JEWELERY FOR MY PIERCING?

No. We are not insured to install jewellery purchased outside our walls.

I DIDN’T GET PIERCED BY YOUR SHOP BUT I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH MY PIERCING, CAN I COME IN TO SEE YOU FOR HELP? Yes. Feel free to book a free consultation or call ahead to walk in if our piercer is available.

I HAVE ALLERGIES TO A LOT OF JEWELERY, DO YOU HAVE OPTIONS FOR ME?

Yes, we carry many different options like gold, titanium, stainless steel all of which are implant grade. We can also special order for options like camouflage piercings and more.

HOW MUCH IS A PIERCING?

General Piercing - $40 for Procedure + Cost of Jewelry Helix Piercing, Cartilage Flat (Top part of ear above the conch), Forward Helix, Daith, Tragus, Conch, Snug, Anti-Tragus, Nostril, Septum, Eyebrow

Intermediate Piercing - $50 for Procedure + Cost of Jewelry Navel, Nipple, General Lip (Bottom or Top), Advanced Lip (Vertical Lip or Vermillion), Tongue, Mouth Webbing*, Bridge*

Double Lobe Piercing - $50 for Procedure + Cost of Jewelry

Double General Piercing - $70 for Procedure + Cost of Jewelry Double/Paired Cartilage piercing (Entire Helix, Conch, Flat, or Custom Industrial), Double/Paired Nostril piercing, Double/Paired Eyebrow piercing, Industrial/Paired Piercing Project

Double Intermediate Piercing - $90 for Procedure + Cost of Jewelry Paired Nipple piercing, Paired Navel piercing, Paired Lip piercing

Genital Piercing - $100 for Procedure + Cost of Jewelry​
